Expat health insurance covers emergency hospitalization for new medical conditions, including medically necessary overnight stays. Ambulance transport is covered only when the journey results in an inpatient admission. If you are at a hospital or emergency room and are facing a large bill or a request for a guarantee of payment, you should call the emergency line. Once your stay is complete and you have your final invoice, you can submit a claim through your account.

What can I do if the hospital is asking me to pay or requesting a guarantee of payment?

If you are currently at a hospital or emergency room and are facing a large bill or a request for a guarantee of payment, you should call the emergency line as soon as possible so your options can be assessed in real time. Give them your personal details and the name and location of the hospital. In some cases, direct payment to the hospital or an alternative solution may be arranged. This isn't guaranteed, but it's always worth asking.

For general claims queries, use the claims line instead.
