If your visa appointment is delayed or your travel plans change, you may need to adjust your expat health insurance start date. Here are the steps based on whether your policy has started or not.
How do I change the start date if my policy has not started yet?
If your policy hasn’t started yet, just follow these steps:
Log in to your Feather account
Then, sign up for a new policy with the correct start date
Following, please go to your old policy in your Feather account and select cancel with the reason 'I have another health insurance'.
Your original policy will be automatically refunded. Keep in mind that it may take a few days for the refund to be processed and appear in your account.
How do I change the start date if my policy has already started?
If your coverage has already begun, we can still adjust the start date and issue a refund for the original policy, but first, we need proof of a new policy.
Here’s what to do:
First, purchase a new policy with your new start date. You can sign up again here.
Then, contact us and provide us with your new policy number and ask us to cancel the original policy.
We will then cancel the original policy and issue a refund so long as no claims were made.
What happens if I want to change the start date but do not purchase a new policy after coverage has started?
If your policy has already begun and the withdrawal period has passed, a minimum one-month term applies. In this case, we cannot issue a refund for the original policy. For this reason, we strongly recommend purchasing a new policy with the correct start date before your current policy starts.
