Can my policy expire?

Written by Isa
Updated this week

Yes, Expat health insurance policies have a maximum duration of 5 years starting from the date you enter Spain. This duration is reflected in your official insurance policy document. Once those five years past, your policy will automatically expire.

Important: Please note that this policy is valid until age 75, so if you reach that age, your policy will also automatically expire.

Can I cancel the policy before the 5-year term is up?

Yes, you can.

If you don't need the policy for the whole duration, you can cancel the policy anytime on a monthly basis. If the policy has already officially begun, a minimum of one month is required.

If you need more information about our cancellation policy, please check here.
