Expat health insurance covers you in Spain and for temporary trips to the countries of the European Union, the Schengen countries, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican City so long as your main residency is in Spain.

Policies that have been active for at least 12 months will also receive additional cover for trips to your home country for up to six weeks in total per insured year. Please note that prior to your one year policy anniversary, there is no cover in your home country, even if this is in the EU/Schengen area.
