Why do I need to provide additional information for my expat health claim?
We may request additional information to process your expat health claim because there might be missing documents or to verify that the claimed medical event is covered under your expat policy. Expat health insurance covers new illnesses or injuries and excludes pre-existing conditions or routine check-ups without symptoms.
What documents must I provide for outpatient appointments?
Please provide invoices that include your diagnosis and an itemized breakdown of all services and costs related to the outpatient appointment.
What documents are required for hospital visits or inpatient stays?
Submit the final hospital invoice you receive after your treatment. This invoice contains the complete treatment details and final costs. Initial payments or pre-payments are not sufficient as they do not reflect the total amount.
What documentation do I need for prescribed medication?
Attach both the prescription from your doctor and the pharmacy receipt showing payment for the medication.
When is a referral required for my claims?
Referrals from a medical doctor are not required for consultations with specialists or doctors. However, a referral is necessary for claims related to aids and physical therapy. Please include a medical doctor’s referral when submitting those claims.
Which documents will not be accepted for expat health insurance claims?
We cannot accept the following documents:
Invoices without diagnosis details or itemized costs (for example, invoices showing a flat fee without treatment information)
Cost estimates
Pre-payments or initial payments
Payment reminders without accompanying invoices or prescriptions
Pharmacy receipts alone without a prescription
Invoices from non-medical practitioners, such as acupuncturists
What should I do if I have been asked to fill out a form?
